These
are not simply an add-in chip but a complete retune of the fuel maps
and ignition timing (where applicable) for maximum efficiency using
modern
fuels and real world conditions. Land Rover Td5 Turbo Diesel Tunes General Motors / Holden |

Syntek
spent years developing these custom tunes and recalibrations. These
have been performed on our own vehicles and as such have been tuned for
maximum efficiency. Original factory tunes assume that vehicles have to
be
able to use low quality fuels and run in very hot and tough conditions
(Lowest grade gasoline in the US for example was typically 80 octane).
Hence they
were never an efficient tune and do not suit local fuels (eg. 91 octane
ULP in Australia). Syntek recalibrates the ECU fuel maps and timing
curves
to suit modern fuels and typical Australian conditions. Typical
improvements usually exceed 5l/100km reduction in fuel consumption.
Powerand drivability are
improved giving the ideal balance. Emissions are often improved once
the engine is correctly tuned. |

Real world case Discovery 1 3.9 litre V8 Engine left untouched apart from ECU remap and
ignition timing regraph. This
is a saving of 1600 litres per annum at 20,000Ks per year driven.
Financial saving of $2,400 per year at $1.50 per litre. The price of
the conversion was recovered in under 2 months. Performance improved
noticably and the vehicle emits approx 1.28 tonnes of carbon less per
year. Savings could be greater as the highway consumption dropped to
15L/100K. |

Real world case Discovery
II TD5 Turbo Diesel Re-tune of ECU and adjustment of turbo
wastegate. Power was increased by 25% and torque by 30%.
Performance improved noticably with less turbo lag and mid range
torque. To quote the owner
"We towed the campervan to Mount Warning yesterday and hardly knew
we had anything in tow. What a great difference your adjustment made.
On refilling the tank with 35.50ltrs for 312.20 ks, it worked out at
8.794ltrs to the 100ks. I don't think that can be improved on, do you?".

Real world case 1997 5.7L MPI Chev truck Re-tune of the ECU only. This vehicle tows a 4.5 tonne gooseneck mobile
home/trailer.
GM never tuned these vehicles accurately for such a heavy loads
or for modern higher octane fuels. Ignition maps were re tuned and
cruise fuel mixtures were set on the road whilst towing. Power unladen
was increased slightly but low to mid range torque was raised
to suit the towing. Fuel economy improved by 37%! The surprising
improvement comes about because the vehicle was never tuned for this
kind of work. This resulted in gross overfuelling when towing. Most
petrol engines doing heavy towing respond to this tuning. |
